Our Teaching Methodology

Read, Listen, Speak, Write

Reading, listening, speaking, and writing are the four core skills of language. Our interdisciplinary curriculum helps learners master each one.

Breaking Out of the Intermediate Plateau

In language learning, students progress very quickly in the beginning, but eventually encounter the “intermediate plateau”

Fluenteam is rethinking how to get learners passed the intermediate plateau. We’ve designed our curriculum around the following principles:

  1. Prioritize listening skills and pronunciation

The biggest mistake people make when learning a language is not listening to speakers and practicing their pronunciations. Enhancing your listening skills improves your speaking, reading, and writing skills.

  2. Vocabulary is more important than grammar

The more vocabulary you know, the more quickly you can grow your language skills. Grammar, on the other hand, can cause a lot of stress and does not necessarily increase your fluency.

  3. Provide written feedback from experts

Embrace failure and practice with actual humans. Fluenteam gives you access to a lovely support network who can give you advice and encouragement.

  4. Encourage writing and critical thinking

Once you start writing in the target language, you will never forget the words that you wrote down.

  5. Create community

We’re social animals and sharing our experiences with others makes us feel more positive about them.

  6. Make learning fun and relevant

Rather than focus on mistakes you may make while learning, celebrate the successes that come from consistent practice.
