Greetings
Happy Tuesday, students! What have you guys been up to this week? Tell us about something interesting that happened to you.
Work
Right now I work as a consultant. I work for a large company that gives advice to firms looking to update their software systems. I don’t really enjoy it, but it helps me pay my bills. Fortunately, I really like my coworkers, and I think my boss is good.
Travel
New Orleans is the largest city in the state of Louisiana. It is world-renowned for its distinct jazz and swing music, Creole cuisine, unique dialects, and the annual celebration of Mardi Gras. The story of New Orleans began in the late 17th century, when French explorers claimed the land as their own. Later it was overtaken by the Spanish, and then it became a U.S. state in 1812. The city’s heritage is a mixture of French, Spanish, and African. Each year 15 million people from around the world visit New Orleans.
The French Quarter is an iconic part of New Orleans.
