Grammar Tips
Understanding “many” versus “much”
The words “much” and “many” are used to describe a large quantity of a noun.
“Many” is used for countable nouns.
I have many houses. << (These are countable nouns, because the person can have 1, 2, 3… houses)
She has many friends.
They have many paintings.
“Much” is used for non-countable nouns.
I don’t have much time.
She does not know much math.
There is not much sunlight.
You use “much” because time, math, and sunlight are nouns you cannot count.
