Greetings
Hi guys, it’s Friday. We hope you have a good weekend.
Work
I’ve got a lot of projects to finish up at work this week. I have to give a big presentation this coming Monday. Unfortunately, this means I will be working late tonight.
Vocabulary:
To “finish up” something means to complete it.
A “coming” event or time is an event or time that will happen soon. Examples: this coming Wednesday, this coming week, this coming weekend.
To “work late” means staying at work late in order to finish all the things that you have to do.

Comparative Adjectives vs Superlatives
Comparative adjectives are used to compare two things. For example:
He is older than her.
She is stronger than him.
You are smarter than your classmates.
Superlatives are adjectives used to describe 3 or more things. You typically include “the” before the superlative.
He is THE oldest.
She is THE strongest.
You are THE smartest.
How to Pronounce “The”:
The definite article “the” is typically pronounced two ways: thuh or thee
Most of the time, people say “thuh” because it is easier.
The people are coming. The firefighters put out the fire. The tree is big.
When you want to emphasize something or when “the” comes before a vowel (e, a, o, u, i) you can say, “thee”.
The president is here.
The entire part of the building
The apple
The ocean’s current
The umbrella
The interior
