Grammar Tips
The present perfect continuous tense also helps you emphasize the duration of an action. Here are a few prepositions you will commonly see it used with:
All day
All morning, this morning
All evening, this evening
Recently
Lately
Music
I have been listening to rock music all week. One of my favorite songs is Free Fallin’ by John Mayer. He has been making music since he was 13.
Sports
My brother has been playing tennis since he was 12. He’s very talented and extremely hard-working. For example, he’s been practicing for 3 hours today, and he will probably play more in the afternoon.
In comparison, I’m pretty lazy. I have been sitting in bed watching television all morning!
