Review the Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Subject + has/have + been + verb (with -ing)

Subject Have/has Past Participle Participle
I have been eating apples.
You have been exercising.
He/She/It has been watching TV.
They have been working hard.
We have been doing well.
There has been a storm.
There have been storms.
The girl has been good.
The protests have been chaotic.

  • All morning, this morning

  • All evening, this evening

My brother has been playing tennis since he was 12. He’s very talented and extremely hard-working. For example, he’s been practicing for 3 hours today, and he will probably play more in the afternoon.

In comparison, I’m pretty lazy. I have been sitting in bed watching television all morning!
